finding my way with words and paint during a social media detox
About
While I dabbled in art throughout my 20s, it wasn’t a serious focus of mine, and I didn’t think I had any talent. I loved art and had favorite artists; however, my grandmother was the true artist in the family, and I was glad to leave that craft to her.
In November 2015, I was introduced to blind contour drawing through an art teacher at school. I tried it and I was hooked — drawing morphed into painting. I felt that anything I created would look strange and not perfect. My inner critic no longer had a voice, and I was given this new freedom to create without judgement.
I created this blog to share my process in art and words. My focus now is on art. Occasionally, I write and post my poems or flash fiction; however, I feel that I’m in a dry spell…so, I paint! I am continually inspired by the world around me. Life is beautiful and so full of wonderful surprises. A year ago, I never dreamed I would be painting.
I realize a cool Author.
